Staff Nurse at Valelevu Health Centre, Laisiasa Tarogi, felt emotional hearing the Christmas carols, knowing that he and many other healthcare workers across the country would be spending Christmas attending to patients, as the services provided by the Ministry are considered essential.
Tarogi says the medical team on duty was caught by surprise when the voices of the Valelevu Methodist Church Choir echoed through the health centre premises with Christmas carols.
He says the decision by choir members to visit the health centre demonstrated their appreciation for the work of healthcare professionals.
Tarogi adds they feel blessed and reassured to know that members of the public value their efforts through such heartfelt gestures.
