Suva Grammar School wins both divisions at Suva Zone II

Suva Grammar School has done it again.

They have won both the girl’s and boy’s divisions at the Suva Zone II for the second year in a row.

In the girl’s division, Suva Grammar School got 23 gold, 25 silver and 18 bronze medals while Saint Joseph’s Secondary School settled for second place with 18 gold, 12 silver and 16 bronze.

Lomary Secondary School finished in third place with 8 gold, 6 silver and 9 bronze.

In the boy’s division, Suva Grammar School once again edged out their rivals Marist Brothers High School.

SGS won 27 gold, 20 silver and 20 bronze while MBHS settled for second place with 23 gold, 27 silver and 17 bronze.

Lomary Secondary School also finished in third place in the boy’s division with 1 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze.

Suva Grammar School sprinter Tevita Sokiveta won his third gold medal this afternoon.

He helped his 4x100 metres team win gold.

Sokiveta also won gold in the Senior Boys 100 and 200 metres.

He ran a manual time of 10.64 seconds in the 100 metres. The Year 13 student has dedicated his win to children suffering from Rheumatic Heart Disease.

Sokiveta says he aims to break Banuve Tabakaucoro's record in both the 100 metres and 200 metres during the Coca-Cola Games.

Marian O'Neill of Saint Joseph's Secondary School won the Senior Girls 100 metres.

O'Neill ran a manual time of 12.50 seconds.

Livia Nabulo of SGS settled for silver while Unaisi Tagabel of SGS got bronze.

Lomary Secondary School long distance champion Makereta Adi also won her third gold medal in the Junior Girls 800 metres this afternoon.

She also won gold in the Junior Girls 1,500 metres on Tuesday and the 3,000 metres open yesterday.

Adi is aiming to win three gold medals in the Coca-Cola Games and challenge ACS and Jasper Williams High School.
