Former member of the SODELPA Management Board, Sainiana Radrodro says there is no motion being moved against the Coalition Government as far as she is aware in today's meeting, and she questions why should there be the moving of such a motion.

Radrodro has made these comments to fijivillage News after former SODELPA Management Board member, Tanya Waqanika posted comments about the Radrodros on her facebook page.

Sainiana Radrodro says people need to calm down and give the Coalition Government a chance to function.

When asked on the comments now being made by Waqanika and former SODELPA Vice President, Anare Jale that the Radrodros were pushing for SODELPA to go into a coalition with the FijiFirst after the 2022 general elections, Radrodro says a lot of things happened at the time, and they were all confidential discussions.

She says to protect the integrity of the process, she opts not to speak publicly on it.

Radrodro also says as a former SODELPA Management Board member, she is requesting for privacy as she works in a professional space where she does not wish to be part of a mudslinging exercise.

Waqanika facebook post Waqanika has posted on her facebook page that the Radrodros (Aseri and Sainiana) were the main key couple that lobbied and spearheaded the campaign with the Management Board members to support the FijiFirst Party after the 2022 general elections.

She adds that she could not understand the rationale behind the Radrodros’ motives for SODELPA to vote for the FijiFirst as the nation wanted a change from the 16 years of the FFP Govt and moreso, the change from the 2 men rule leadership of Bainimarama and Sayed-Khaiyum.

Waqanika says SODELPA stands for the preservation and protection of indigenous rights (amongst other things) and given the laws that FFP had introduced during their term of power, they were seen as a party that was anti-iTaukei.

She also says by the Grace of God and for those of them who sat in the Southern Cross Hotel they narrowly won by secret ballot - mind you, the SODELPA constitution does not allow secret ballots in Management Board meetings.

Waqanika writes that the secret ballot was requested by pro FijiFirst Management Board members as they had received threats after they voted for FFP at Yue Lai Hotel - the 1st voting which was nullified.

She says Aseri Radrodro's picture alone sitting with other SODELPA Working Committee members over the weekend naturally triggered thoughts to party members and supporters that oppose any coalition with the FijiFirst that the couple, yet again are making moves for SODELPA to join FFP.

Waqanika says she prays that for today's board meeting, there will not be any secret ballot voting as this is not permitted under the SODELPA Constitution.

She says people need to know whether their board representatives are supporting or opposing the Coalition.

Waqanika says she also prays that the Management Board puts the interest of the nation first over the individuals.

Dismissed Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro has not responded to request for comments.

Radrodro has made a public apology for all the drama caused and has asked the Prime Minister if his termination can be rescinded, and for it to be noted that this is a matter of miscommunication of the various parties involved in relation to the Fiji National University Council.

Radrodro says this matter provides a good lesson for us moving forward to dialogue as leaders in good faith and to remove any personal bias that may cloud our good judgement, for our people certainly deserve better.
