Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka has reminded civil servants of the sacrifice they are expected to make and is urging them to recommit themselves to their calling of being servants of the State and all the people of Fiji.

While delivering his Easter message at the Combined Easter Church service at Centenary Methodist Church in Suva yesterday, Rabuka reminded them of the sacrifice of God's own son on the cross for everyone.

He says civil servants are expected to make sacrifices day and night and they also sacrifice the presence of their loved ones.

While responding to criticism about hefty pay rise for Ministers and Members of the Parliament, Rabuka says leaders make sacrifices that often take them away from family.

Rabuka shared that he missed dinner with his great-grandchildren due to work commitments and will miss it again while meeting another country's Deputy Prime Minister.

He is urging civil servants to be focused on their work.
