The newly inducted Head Boy of Natabua High School, Netani Solo Kepa, aims to raise awareness and educate his peers on the risks associated with drugs.

While speaking to fijivillage News, Kepa says drug-related issues are a major concern, as it disrupt students' lives, affect their education and create an unsafe environment for everyone.

He says peer pressure and drug use among students are among the most pressing issues today.

The Head Boy says students often feel pressured to take part in risky behaviour just to fit in with a group.

He further says his job as the Head Boy is to work closely with the teachers to ensure that students are solely focused on academics.

Kepa says balancing leadership duties and academics could be challenging but believes in the importance of time management.

He says he would create a strict timetable, prioritising tasks and setting aside specific time slots for both leadership duties and schoolwork.

Head Girl Shreya Shail says every students voice matters, and they should never hesitate to speak up about school improvements, personal goals or concerns.

She says they must foster an environment where feelings are heard and supported.

Shail says students should not be afraid to speak up and get involved, as it helps improve the school environment.

She further says they are all part of the same school community, and the best way to make it better is by supporting each other, whether that is through kindness, teamwork, or just being a good friend.

The 17-year-old says school is not only about academics but also about experiences, friendships and personal growth.

Shail also advises her peers to step out of their comfort zones and make the most of every opportunity that comes their way.

When asked how she will manage school work and the additional responsibility as a head prefect, Shail says she understands academics are important, but she has other responsibilities to both the school and her peers as Head Girl.

She says she plans to stay organised with a proper schedule and efficiently use her time for schoolwork and leadership responsibilities.

Shail acknowledges the possibility of personal burnout but believes that delegating tasks and working as a team will help manage the workload.
