The Methodist Church in Fiji has continued to assist families who are severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic this Christmas.

Secretary for Communications, Reverend Wilfred Regunamada says each division has their own social services committee that collects data on how many people are affected and organise charity events to collect items and distribute them to these families.

He says they do not only support their members but also families from different religious backgrounds.

Regunamada says their Suva Circuit has been conducting a week long Christmas gift drive to ensure struggling families have a festive Christmas.

He says these gifts are then given to families that have been identified in HARTs and even children who have their parents in prison.

Regunamada says they understand that many families and individuals were affected due to the pandemic but they believe that Jesus will continue to be our peace during these struggling times.

He says their theme for this year’s Christmas is “Our salvation comes from the Prince of Bethlehem” which is a reminder that Jesus is the hope.
