It is unfortunate that members of our vulnerable communities have become victims in their own homes.

This was highlighted by the Divisional Police Commander West Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Iakobo Vaisewa while officiating at the graduation of 30 students from the Caregivers Services Professionals Institute at Waiyavi in Lautoka.

SSP Vaisewa says the crime scenes are no longer limited to the physical world but the virtual one, where they are targets of online scams and cybercrimes.

While congratulating the caregivers, SSP Vaisewa urged them to never turn a blind eye to any form of abuse or incidents where those under your care.

He says whether these graduates find themselves caring for someone here in Fiji or abroad, they should know that the level of responsibility they have in protecting their clients remains the same.

SSP Vaisewa says he hopes the graduates will realise the unlimited potential they all have to impact positive change.

He further says these graduates have chosen a noble career path in caring for those requiring specialised care, and their work requires patience, commitment and empathy.
