Despite criticism from many who claim that playing soccer negatively impacts academic performance, the students of Labasa College have achieved a 100 percent pass rate in their Year 12 External Examination last year.

Teachers expressed their excitement after this milestone achievement by posting on Facebook, sharing how proud they are after receiving the news yesterday following the Minister for Education's public announcement.

In his Facebook post, Roneel Avneeth Ram acknowledged the efforts of Principal Anjaleen Raj, Vice Principal Mohammed Faiaz, Assistant Principal Mahesh Kumar, teachers and all the parents who contributed to this success.

Ram says last year all soccer boys in year 13 scored 300 plus which makes it a remarkable achievement.

Speaking from Sydney, Australia, Principal Anjaleen Raj told fijivillage News that she is proud of their students achieving a 100 percent pass rate, marking a significant milestone after years of hard work.

Raj emphasized that the team's focus and collective goal-setting over the years were key factors in achieving this success.

She also highlighted that last year, the team prioritized differentiated learning strategies, which played a crucial role in reaching their target.

The Principal says moving forward, the team aims to maintain the 100 percent pass rate achieved in 2024, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement.
