Defending Coca-Cola Games boys champion Marist Brothers High School is treating all schools with respect and humility in this year’s Coca-Cola Games which will be held from today to Saturday.

Marist Head Coach Antonio Raboiliku says they have been helping other schools to prepare for the games in good spirits and are ready to defend the boys title.

Raboiliku says they have reached the business end of 10 weeks of preparations and the Marist brigade is all fired up for the three days of competition.

He says the introduction of the qualifying system has ignited the games to a new level and the training and education provided by national accredited coaches to coaches of other schools has boosted the competition this year.

He adds after reviewing the times and distance of other schools in the various zones, he believes that it is anybody’s game right now.

Raboiliku who is also a former student of Marist is resonating the values of comradeship in camp and says he is reminding the squad to work together and to keep the motto of I’m my brothers keeper.

He says he is proud of the Marist influence with coaches who are old boys reaching out and helping schools like Rabi High School, Yat Sen Secondary, Nakasi High School, Saint Joseph’s Secondary School, Adi Cakobau School, Suva Grammar School, DAV College and Swami Vivekananda College to name a few.

The Marist contingent is coming into this year’s games with 70 athletes.

The Coca-Cola Games will be held at the HFC Bank Stadium.
