The Fiji Airways National Men’s 7s team is through to the cup quarter finals even though they were thumped 35-7 by Argentina in their last pool game at the Hong Kong 7s this afternoon.

They will play Spain at 11.47 tonight.

The Argentinian team put on a masterclass performance as they starved Fiji of possession while scoring five converted tries.

Try scoring machine Joji Nasova scored Fiji’s lone try.

Fiji had earlier defeated the USA 26-14 before edging Ireland 21-19 last night.

In earlier games, France beat Kenya 14-7, Spain defeated Great Britain 26-12, Ireland outplayed the USA 19-10.

The cup semi finals will start at 7pm tomorrow and the cup final will kick off at 11.46pm tomorrow.
