A man living in Rewa Street has expressed his concerns regarding the sex workers often gathering in the area at night after a 34-year-old woman was found dead in a vacant house yesterday morning.
In an interview with fijivillage News, the man says there is speculation that the woman may have been one of the sex workers as they used the shortcut for going to other areas.
He says the vacant house where the body was found, is also frequently used for drinking.
He hopes that the culprit will be punished as it’s a very unfortunate incident.
His daughter-in-law says at around 6am yesterday, she found a crowd gathered outside and four police vehicles were parked nearby.

She says at first she thought it to be a road accident and later learned from her father-in-law that a body was found.
The woman says no unusual noises or someone shouting for help was heard the night before, noting that her family may have been asleep at the time of the incident.
Police officers have since increased patrols in the area and also visited their residence to request for the CCTV footage, however, their cameras only cover their property and not the surroundings.
Meanwhile, in an earlier fijivillage Straight Talk with Vijay Narayan, a sex worker named Cindy highlighted that some clients forced them to do drugs such as methamphetamine in exchange for providing sexual service.
Investigation continues.
