International Women’s Association Fiji President, Judy Compain is today questioning why women have to buy endosamplers to diagnose gynecology related issues including cancer at the public hospitals.
This device is designed to collect clearly-differentiated endometrial tissue without anesthesia in an outpatient setting. It is recommended for diagnostics in both pre and post-menopausal women.
Compain has posted on X that $35 is unaffordable for many, so for these women, the doctors are putting in money to buy the test kits for the women.
She says IWA has purchased sufficient stocks to last a month.
Compain is questioning why is this happening.
We have sent questions to the Ministry of Health.
