Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka

The people of Tailevu Province have been urged to fill all the vacant chiefly titles so that it is easier for the community to access grants for the development of the village.

While opening the Tailevu Provincial Council meeting at Vuci Village in Tailevu, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka says there are about 879 chiefs in Tailevu and about 423 positions have been filled.

He says 45 percent or 336 chiefly titles are still left to be filled.

Rabuka urges the Council to work closely with the Native Land Commission in ensuring that all titles are filled.

The Prime Minister also highlighted that the meeting today should include the discussion on development and uplifting of the lives of the people.

He says the Government has invested a lot in the development of different provinces in the country and hopes that Tailevu will take advantage of this.

The Prime Minister today opened the Vuci Village Hall.

He also commissioned the Tailevu Strategic Plan and website.
