The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua’s hope of qualifying for the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific playoffs is on the line when they take on the Melbourne Rebels in the last round of the competition today.
The Drua have slipped to 9th place following the Crusaders’ 43-10 win over Moana Pasifika last night, gifting them a promotion to 8th place with 24 points.
Drua captain Ratu Meli Derenalagi earlier said that the players are ready to put their bodies on the line to secure a win today and make their second quarter finals appearance in the competition in just their third year of participation.
Derenalagi is calling on all fans to head down to Churchill Park in Lautoka today and support the boys in their bid to regain their spot in the top 8.
He says it is always motivating for the boys to see their fans turn up in numbers whenever they play at home to cheer them on and they will want to put a smile on their fans’ faces after today’s game.
The Drua will need nothing less than a win to climb back into 8thplace and book a quarter final showdown with either the Blues or the Hurricanes.
The Drua will take on the Rebels at 2.05pm this afternoon.
In other matches today, the Hurricanes will take on the Highlanders at 4.35pm, the Blues will play the Chiefs at 7.05pm, and the Force will host the Brumbies at 9.35pm.
