Fashion designer, Zulfikar Ali is opening his own fashion boutique after working in the Fijian fashion industry for more than 20 years and promises to be a unique experience for the patrons who want ethnic Indian clothes and costume jewellery.
Ali says people will have a different shopping environment as the AZA Design Studio is located in a house-turned-store and they also have a better quality of clothing in his new Facing India label.
He says he faced a few challenges due to lockdowns last year but things are now getting back to normal and functions such as weddings are happening again.
Ali further says freight charges have gone up by three or four folds and increase in VAT to 15% will be very challenging as they now have a lower profit margin now.
He says there is a still a very good demand for ethnic Indian clothes despite their being a lot of players in the market but customers have something different to look forward to with AZA Design Studio.
He also confirms that he is setting up a line for the 15th Fiji Fashion Week on the 27th and 28th of May at the Vodafone Arena.
AZA Design Studio opens tomorrow in Ragg Avenue, Namadi Heights.
