There was a vast display of colours at the 2024 Fiji Fashion Week as designers from Fiji and abroad showcased the various designs in the final show at the Vodafone Arena.
Managing Director of Fiji Fashion Week, Ellen Whippy-Knight says the week started with a bang earlier last week at a picturesque exotic island in Nukulau, which was very successful.
Knight says they had record-breaking numbers yesterday morning with the student designer show with 36 schools, 40 designers, and 160 models.
Lautoka Central School came in first place, Ballantine Memorial School came second, and Mahatma Gandhi Memorial came third.
Last night’s theme was Resort Luxe Show and Knight says it was full of colours from the first designer to the last designer and thanked the public for coming in numbers.
Local designer Hupfeld Hoerder says he has been in the industry for more than 35 years and his brand is named after him, and says yesterday resonated all his display of his work based on the marine eco-system.
He says he uses shells and has re-branded his logo to promote and preserve his culture which is something he is very proud of in the Pacific.
He says his brand amplifies the importance of sustaining the marine eco-system and echoes sentiments that every brand has a story to tell.
Knight says the one-week show was a success and thanked all the sponsors for making it an eventful one.
