Fiji Labour Party Leader, Mahendra Chaudhry confirms that FLP, SODELPA, National Federation Party, Unity Fiji, Freedom Alliance Party and People’s Democratic Party will still contest the 2018 general elections although the parties are raising concerns about certain electoral issues and are saying that they do not have any confidence in the Chairman of the Electoral Commission and the Supervisor of Elections.
Chaudhry says they will not take any other decisions as they will continue to push for what they want.
He stresses that the parties will go to the polls even if the changes wanted by them are not implemented.
SODELPA Leader, Sitiveni Rabuka says before a Rugby World Cup, teams make recommendations for some changes they want and even though some of those recommendations may not be taken on board, they still play in the World Cup.
Rabuka has made it clear that SODELPA will still play the game and will still contest the 2018 General Election.
