Body of man reported missing from fishing trip washes ashore in Savusavu

The body of 33-year-old Shiu Chand was found washed ashore along Tacilevu Beach in Savusavu yesterday.

Police say Chand of Vatuwiri Estate was reported missing after he failed to return home after a fishing trip

A search party consisting of police officers, members of the community and divers from Paradise Divers were deployed and were searching areas along Vuna and Vatuwiri, and yesterday received word of the discovery from officers in Savusavu.

A post mortem examination will be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.
