Rainforest Eco Lodge and Batiniwai Restaurant in Colo-i-Suva

The Rainforest Eco Lodge and Batiniwai Restaurant in Colo-i-Suva have employed more than 20 people after the announcement of its new logo, name and management.

General Manager, Hiram Whippy says he and his team would work to maintain the original spirit of the lodge as an environmentally-centric and nature-loving business while continuing to lift standards for local and international guests.

Whippy says the Lodge now offers guests 22 rooms catering for budget travellers to families who want self-contained Bures or honeymooners wanting privacy in their natural rain-forest environment.

He adds the lodge is a Care Fiji Commitment certified where overseas travellers can spend their first three days in Fiji in the lodge’s COVID-safe environment.

Whippy says they are also excited about the new restaurant that has opened on their premises called Batiniwai, which is a Pacific fusion restaurant on the edge of the rain-forest overlooking the Colo-i-Suva lake.

The Rainforest Eco Lodge is now 100 percent locally owned by a consortium of investors including Donny Yee who is the Managing Director of Lami Kava, the Bentley Fisher Trust and the Centre for Mental Health Learning.
