A significant number of skilled Fijian construction workers, many of whom have gained valuable experience abroad, are returning to Fiji to help build Vatu Talei – The Jewel, a luxurious resort expected to open in late 2026. Investment Fiji says this $230 million project, located on Denarau Island in Nadi, is not only creating over 450 jobs but also offering a unique opportunity for former Fijians to apply their skills in the construction of a world-class destination.

They say currently, nearly 200 workers are on-site each day, contributing to the rapid progress of the resort.

Investment Fiji says the project’s construction is being managed by Construction Managers Global, whose Director, Stewart Lovelock, emphasized the value of bringing skilled Fijians back to the country.

Lovelock says many of these workers have gained their skills overseas, and now, they are bringing that knowledge back to Fiji, contributing to a project that will have a lasting impact on the tourism industry and the local economy.

He says with several positions still available, they encourage more experienced construction workers to join them in this exciting venture.

Investment Fiji says Vatu Talei – The Jewel, a partnership between BSP Life and Fiji Airways through Richmond Pte Limited, will redefine luxury in the Pacific.

They say spanning nearly 10 acres, the resort will feature state-of-the-art facilities, including the region’s largest pool, biophilic atrium, and hanging gardens.

They say guests can also expect a cultural education experience, innovative dining, and a unique water-themed experience.

Investment Fiji Chief Executive Officer Kamal Chetty says the return of experienced Fijian workers to help build Vatu Talei, The Jewel resort not only strengthens local workforce but also contributes directly to the growth of Fiji’s tourism sector.

He says this project offers tremendous potential to stimulate the local economy through job creation, skills transfer, and the development of supporting industries such as hospitality, transport, and services.

Chetty says it is a great example of how Fijian talent, both local and abroad, can play a crucial role in driving the nation’s development.

He adds they look forward to seeing the continued positive impact of such projects on Fiji’s economy and the opportunities they create for the people.
