The Uto Ni Yalo an iconic symbol of our ancient cultural skills of navigation and canoeing will be given as a gift to the people of Fiji tomorrow.
The Uto ni Yalo sailed around the Pacific and to the Americas over two voyages since 2010 to raise awareness about threats to the sea.
The ocean going canoe or vaka moana will be handed over by the Oceanic Sustainability Research Ltd to the Uto Ni Yalo charitable trust.
The handover of the canoe one of seven funded by German philanthropist Dieter Paulmann will be done at the Lautoka Wharf.
