The University of Fiji says it will work with the Ministry of Education to ensure that teachers are subject matter specialists.
It says all tertiary education providers should embrace and contribute to enhancing the quality of holistic education in secondary schools.
Vice Chancellor, Professor Prem Misir says the University of Fiji is an exceptional institution of higher learning, with expertise in a broad disciplinary spectrum combined with interdisciplinary initiatives, and with excellent academic support.
He says the University has a commitment to provide higher education to students who have no access to other tertiary institutions.
Misir says the University is an emerging and innovative academic powerhouse, making for transformative learning, teaching, and research through their programs.
Misir says their programs and courses are of the highest quality.
The Professor says all the three programs which the Ministry will not recognize are relevant to the teaching profession and are of the highest standards.
He adds they meet the requisite requirements of the Fiji Qualifications Framework.
Five post graduate programmes in the country will not be recognized by the Ministry of Education to ensure that teachers are subject matter specialists.
