Fiji Pearls vice‑captain Maria Lutua has been signed by the
Yorkshire Jets which is one of the eight United Kingdom netball teams who play in the Netball Super League.
Lutua has 52 caps for the Pearls and played in the last two World Cups since making her international debut in 2009.
The 26‑year-old was last in the UK in 2010 when she was part of the Celtic Dragons training squad.
Lutua believes that this could be an opening to allow more girls from Fiji to play at this level in the future.
She hopes Fijians already in the UK will support her and the Yorkshire Jets this season.
Lutua will start playing for the Jets next year.
