Women's Rugby League World Cup to begin next year

The Rugby League World Cup 2017 Organising Committee has announced that for the first time in the sport's history the Women's Rugby League World Cup will be held concurrently with the men’s tournament.

Women's Rugby League World Cup 2017 pool matches and semi‑finals will be played at Southern Cross Group Stadium in Sydney from 16th November next year.

Both the women’s and men’s final will be played as a double‑header at Brisbane Stadium on 2nd December 2017.

In 2017, the standalone Women’s Rugby League World Cup will involve England, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.

The final team will come from either Fiji, Tonga, Samoa or the Cook Islands following the Pacific Qualifying Series to be played at St Mary’s in Western Sydney next month.
