Rebels coach Tony McGahan is confident his code‑hopping wing Marika Koroibete will recover from injury in time for Melbourne's opening Super Rugby season clash with the Blues on Thursday.
Koroibete did not play in either of the Rebels trials in Queensland or in their Brisbane Tens campaign due to an ongoing knee injury.
Initially disappointed to not have Koroibete with the Rebels squad early in the pre‑season after he was called up to train with the Wallabies on their European tour.
Wallabies test centre Reece Hodge, who on has extended his deal with the Rebels until 2020 says Koroibete has a lot of potential in rugby if he gets some space.
