Suliasi Vunivalu of the Melbourne Storm in action

The Fiji National Rugby League is happy to see majority of the Vodafone Fiji Bati players currently performing well in the top eight teams of the NRL.

With six weeks left to the Battle of the Bati, FNRL CEO Timoci Naleba confirms that the players are injury free and there is no issue so far with the players that have confirmed their availability to play for the Bati.

Looking at the NRL points table, Suliasi Vunivalu has continued to score tries for the Melbourne Storm who are leading the points table with 40 points, Korbin Sims is with the Broncos who are in second place, Kane Evans and Eloni Vunakece are with the Roosters who are in third place, Jason Bukuya has been a regular starter for the Sharks who are in fourth place, Viliame Kikau and Waqa Blake continue to be outstanding for the Panthers who are in the 6th position while Akuila Uate and Apisai Koroisau have been outstanding for the Sea Eagles who are currently sitting at eighth place.

Naleba says the NRL players are expected to be in Fiji on October 5th to prepare for the Battle of the Bati while the final squad will start their camp on October 8.

The Fiji Bati will face the Australian Kangaroos and Papua New Guinea in an historic tri‑contest at the ANZ Stadium on October 14.

Fiji will face PNG before Australia takes on both PNG and finally Fiji. All three match‑ups will last 40 minutes.

It will be the Kangaroos' first match in Fiji.
