The New Zealand Warriors are set to sign former Fiji Bati and Wests Tigers centre, Taane Milne on a two‑year deal.
The 23‑year‑old last played with the Tigers and was sacked in April last year, after turning in a second positive drug test.
Just months after being sacked, he reached out to Warriors coach Stephen Kearney in a handwritten letter.
Two days later, Kearney phoned Milne directly, saying he would speak with the Warriors leadership group and think on the decision for a week.
Milne is set to start training with the Warriors next Monday.
He was part of the Fiji Bati 2017 World Cup squad and kicked the winning penalty against the Kiwis during their 4‑2 quarter‑final win.
