Defending champions of the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s Wardens Gold started their title defence strongly beating National Fire Authority 24-5 in their first match.
Wardens Gold looked very impressive which was led by lanky Sakiyasi Kaikaivalu who scored a try.
Kaikaivalu also set up two tries to help his side beat the Fire team.
Tokatoka WestField Babas also started their campaign on a high thrashing Gumatua 45–7.
Westfield Babas which has the services of Waisea Nacuqu, Vatemo Ravouvou, Samu Saqiwa and Pio Tuwai.
Speaking to Fijivillage, Tuwai says they still need to improve on some of the aspects of their game.
He says after their first game, he told the players that they will need to trust each other and work harder if they want to win the tournament.
Tuwai also said his ultimate goal is to join the Vodafone Fiji 7s team.
Looking at some other results, Nawaka beat Waimanu 26-7, Marist 1 hammered Lomavata Cowboys 40-7, Police National thrashed West Coast Drifters 40-7 while Army Red edged out Vuanisaiki 21-12.
Results earlier this morning, Ratu Filise 1 beat Big Bula Water Park Kuata Exiles 22-14, Tabadamu hammered First Light 36-nil, Yamacia edged out Tauraga 19-12, Redrock thrashed Marist 2 31-5 and Hideaway Hurricanes beat Trinity Newtown 26-0.
