This could be their last Netball World Cup and Veteran defenders Matila Waqanidrola and Mere Rabuka-Neiliko say they will give their best shot when the competition starts this Friday.
They have represented Fiji in four Netball World Cup’s and their first Netball World Cup was in 2003 in Kingston, Jamaica.
Both players have shared captaincy duties over the years and Coach Kate Carpenter says she will be looking to these two players to inspire their fairly young and balanced squad.
Carpenter says their leadership would also play a key role in determining Fiji’s campaign through the preliminary rounds.
The Fiji Pearls will play Wales this Friday in the Preliminary Round matches at 11.05am.
Fiji will then face Uganda at 1.20pm Saturday, before taking on Zambia at 5.20pm Sunday.
The Qualifying Round Matches will start from next Monday.
