Top European qualifier, Wales will offer the Fiji Pearls a mountain of a challenge when they will meet in their first Netball World Cup match in Sydney this Friday.
Fiji Pearls Coach, Kate Carpenter says Wales had a lot more time together as a group and with a new coach they may bring something different to the table.
Wales beat Fiji 62-47 in the 2011 Netball World Cup in Singapore and now with two different coaches for both sides, Friday’s match could turn out to exceed expectations.
The Fiji Pearls are currently ranked 7th in the World while Wales is in 8th position.
Fiji is pooled with Uganda who are ranked 14th and Zambia who are ranked 18th.
The Fiji Pearls will play Wales this Friday in the Preliminary Round matches at 11.05am.
Fiji will then face Uganda at 1.20pm Saturday, before taking on Zambia at 5.20pm Sunday.
The Qualifying Round Matches will start from next Monday.
