Former Lelean Memorial School student Suliasi Vunivalu who was part of the Auckland Blues Under 18 last year will be making his big break in the Melbourne Storm side this year.

Vunivalu moved to Melbourne last year, linking up with the Storm’s U20 Thunderbolts after completing his education at Auckland’s St Kentigern College.

His raw talent and athletic ability impressed in his first season with the Storm, featuring in eight Under 20 matches as well as getting the taste for senior football in the New South Wales Cup with feeder club Cronulla before injury cut his 2014 season short.

The 19-year-old also made an appearance in an NRL squad trial match against the Bulldogs February last year.

The 2015 Super Rugby competition kicks off next month with the Crusaders taking on the Rebels.
