The Vodafone Fiji Under 20 team lost to Georgia 12-8 in the 9th place playoff of the World Rugby Under 20 Championship this morning.
Fiji was leading 8-0 three minutes into the second half but with discipline issues and weak defence, Georgia scored two tries and converted a penalty in the remaining 20 minutes of the game.
Fiji’s points came from a try to Epeli Momo in the 8th minute of the first half and a penalty conversion to Caleb Muntz three minutes into the second half.
Fiji will now play the loser of the match between Scotland and Italy in the 11th place playoff.
The team that finishes 12th in the competition will be relegated to the World Rugby Under 20 Trophy next year.
