Samisoni Viriviri is aiming to make a comeback and make the final team for the Paris 7s next weekend.
Viriviri returns to the national side for the first time since the 2014 London Sevens where he was also named the 2014 sevens player of the year having finished the season as the top try scorer.
Viriviri says that he had spoken to Ben Ryan four months ago discussing which tournament he can play in which includes Hong Kong, Vancouver or Paris.
He adds that he has been working on his speed again and also aiming to make the Olympic team in Rio.
Ryan is expected to name his final 12 later next week as he has 17 players currently in camp in London.
Fiji is pooled with Samoa, Wales and Scotland.
Fiji will take on Scotland in the first pool match of the Paris 7s at 5.44am next Saturday.
We take on Wales at 9.14pm next Saturday and our last pool match is against Samoa at 12.47am next Sunday.
