Canberra Vikings flanker Rob Valetini always knows when his mum is on the sidelines when the booming voice calling his name is unmistakable.
The Melbourne‑born son of Fijian parents confirmed his family and friends are making the trip north when the Vikings host NRC table‑toppers the Fiji Airways Drua at Viking Park tonight.
Valetini wants to lead the Vikings back to winning ways after two narrow losses, while young gun five‑eighth Mack Hansen will make his NRC debut off the bench.
19‑year‑old Valetini admits he wanted to play against Fiji this season and said there will be extra fire in the belly against his country of heritage.
Valetini arrived at the ACT Brumbies 10 months ago as just the second Australian forward to sign a Super Rugby contract while still in high school.
Meanwhile, a total of eleven Brumbies players will be starting for the Vikings including captain Tom Cusack.
The Vikings will host the Drua at 9.30 tonight.
