Fiji born Virimi Vakatawa is ready to front up against his fellow countrymen when France takes on the Vodafone Flying Fijians in their Europe Tour test match next week.
This comes after Vakatawa was named in the French extended squad to prepare for the autumn test series.
If given the nod Vakatawa will create history to become the first Fijian to represent France in both the 7s and 15's codes.
Speaking to Fijivillage from France, Vakatawa said he was surprised with the call up as he was just returning from Fiji to France when he was told that he was named in the team.
The 22-year-old said he wishes his grandparents who both passed away earlier this year were still alive to witness his achievements.
The former Nasinu Secondary School student said he will dedicate his selection to his family in Naluwai, Naitasiri if he makes the team.
Vakatawa is the wing for Racing Metro in France.
The Vodafone Flying Fijians will play France next Sunday followed by games against Wales on the 16th and USA on the 22nd.
