Tana Umaga insists he has not failed as head coach, despite the Blues' worst start to a Super Rugby season in three years ‑ and the worst in the former All Black captain's reign.
The struggling Auckland club's woes were compounded on Friday night when they were beaten 34‑16 by the Highlanders at Eden Park for a 15th straight Kiwi derby defeat.
Umaga told Radio Sport that he remains confident that he is the right man to lead the franchise.
The 44‑year‑old former All Blacks captain and midfielder admitted the Blues' recent results have not been easy to process.
In this week’s matches, the Hurricanes will meet the Sunwolves at 7.35pm Friday.
On Saturday, the Stormers face the Rebels at 5.10am, the Blues take on the Jaguares at 7.35pm while the Brumbies face the Crusaders at 9.45pm.
On Sunday, the Bulls take on the Highlanders at 3.15am.
