Fiji Men’s National 7s Captain Jerry Tuwai is sick and did not join the team for training yesterday.
This has been confirmed by coach Gareth Baber who is optimistic that everything will work out well.
Baber says they are also working on minimizing the distractions for the players around the Games village.
Baber has decided to go with the 13 players earlier announced for the Commonwealth 7s as they get ready for the tournament in Gold Coast.
Semi Kunatani, Jasa Veremalua, Josua Vakurinabili, Paula Dranisinukula, Kalione Nasoko, Jerry Tuwai, Vatemo Ravouvou, Amenoni Nasilasila, Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Mesulame Kunavula, Eroni Sau, Alasio Naduva and Samisoni Viriviri will carry the hopes of the nation to win our first Commonwealth gold medal in the 7s competition.
Fiji will play Sri Lanka at 1.21pm Saturday in their first game, they will then meet Uganda at 7.53pm on Saturday in their second pool match before facing Wales at 11.33pm in their last pool game.
There will be no quarterfinals as the top four teams will go straight to the semi finals at 1.43pm Sunday and the Commonwealth 7s final will kick off at 5.04pm Sunday.
