Former Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s Captain Jerry Tuwai has made an assurance that there is no truth to the rumors of his departure from the 7s circuit to follow fellow Olympian Jasa Veremalua to the USA.
Coach Gareth Baber highlighted this after clarification was sought from Tuwai.
Baber says that Tuwai is focused on his role with Fiji this season.
Baber adds that Tuwai is an integral member of the team, he has bounced back from all the criticism and is right where he needs to be to perform at his best and they look forward to seeing him contribute the same form he showed particularly in Cape Town.
Meanwhile, Baber highlighted that he is proud of the senior players and the leadership group and the way they helped guide the young players into winning Cape Town.
The team will regroup this Wednesday for a three day camp as they build up for Hamilton.
Fiji leads Pool A with Australia, Argentina and Wales in the mix.
The Hamilton 7s will be held from the 26th to the 27th of next month.
