Tuva Youth has successfully defended the Uprising Youth 7s title after defeating Wesley Fijians 10-5 in the final.
Playmaker Ilaisa Droasese was the Man of the Match after scoring the winning try in extra time.
Both sides were locked 5-all at full time.
Tuva Manager Sitiveni Kunaika says despite the number of injuries in the team, they never gave up and stuck to their game plan.
Kunaika adds that some of the players have been approached by scouts from overseas who were very impressive with their skills in the two day tournament.
Tuva Youth has walked away with $10,000.
Meanwhile looking at the Crest Na Iri Trophy quarter finals, the Stars USA will take on Hotsprings Savusavu at 10.54am, the Fijiana Makosoi will take on Hong Kong at 11.12am, Japan will face Nadi Aviators at 11.30am while Striders will take on Nadi Blazers at 11.48am.
The Men’s Mana Whey Fiji Coral Coast 7s competition will also start today with Ravuka Sharks taking on Suva Stallions at 8.30am, Lomavata Blues will face Outrigger at 8.48am, McDonalds Saunaka will take on Tovolea at 9.06am while Ratu Filise will face Hong Kong at 9.24am.
Kitione Taliga, Vatemo Ravouvou, Pio Tuwai, Masivesi Dakuwaqa and Nacanieli Batina will all be playing for the McDonald's Saunaka 7s team.
The winner of both Men’s and Women’s will win $20,000 each.
