Expect a tussle between Ilaitia Waqa of Queen Victoria School and Sailosi Tubuilagi of Ratu Kadavulevu School in the Tailevu Zone this Wednesday.
Waqa and Tubuilagi are two of the top athletes in contention for the Blue Ribbon event at this year’s Coca Cola Games.
Waqa is aiming to defend the Blue Ribbon title while Tubuilagi will be looking to give his Tailevu rival a run for his money at the zone on Wednesday.
Waqa’s personal best manual time in the 100 metres race is 11.29 seconds which he clocked at the school’s inter house while Tubuilagi’s 100 metres time is 11.05 seconds.
Meanwhile other athletes who are in contention for the Blue Ribbon event include Shane Tuvusa of Natabua High School who clocked 10.61 seconds and Keasi Naidroka of Marist Brothers High School with a personal best of 10.99 seconds.
The Tailevu Zone will be held this Wednesday at the ANZ Stadium while the Coca Cola Games will be held from the 20th to the 22nd of next month.
