Fiji Weightlifting is confident that Manueli Tulo will make Fiji proud at the Oceania Weightlifting Championship which kicks off at the Vodafone Arena today.
The 25-year-old Levuka man who is currently rated number one in the Pacific, trains under the guidance of Oceania coach Paul Koffa and has shown impressive results over the past few months in the 56Kg category.
National Coach, Joe Vueti said with Tulo holding a total of 3 Gold and 4 bronze medals from the Pacific Games, they are confident he will make Fiji proud and he will have a high chance to qualify for Rio.
Tulo will be competing in the men’s 56kg category with Poama Qaqa.
With over 200 lifters from across the region participating, Fiji has prepared 24 local weight lifters to compete in the championship.
