Toulon are positive Ma'a Nonu is making a good recovery after the former All Blacks midfielder suffered a nasty head knock in a French Top 14 match.
A heavy collision with Montpellier defender Julian Brady left two‑time World Cup winner Nonu motionless on the ground in the second half of the away clash for Toulon yesterday.
Spotting that Nonu was not moving, the referee quickly stopped the match and the Toulon medical staff assessed the 35‑year‑old before he was taken from the field on a stretcher.
In a statement on their website, the club said Nonu had been able to return to Toulon with the squad and they were following all necessary protocols.
The club added that Nonu would see a neurologist to confirm their assessment.
