Golfer Tiger Woods has fought hard to maintain his place atop the leaderboard midway through the second round at the season‑ending Tour Championship.
Galleries erupted when the 14‑time major winner drained a 23‑foot birdie putt at the 202‑yard par‑3 15th to surge into the outright lead at eight‑under‑par at Atlanta's East Lake Golf Club.
Earlier, overnight co‑leader Woods was left to scramble on the front nine as a series of drives put him in difficult positions, but he scrapped to stay even for the front nine and five‑under overall.
But Woods fired a stunning approach to four feet and made birdie at the 12th hole, before draining a 17‑foot birdie putt at the 14th.
Justin Rose sits one shot back of two‑time Tour Championship winner Woods.
