Thousands of excited fans welcomed the Vodafone Fiji 7s team with the HSBC World 7s Series trophy at the Nadi International Airport this morning.
People cheered at their first glance of the team at the arrivals area and lined-up to get autographs and also have photos taken.
It was also a special moment for the players as they returned after a successful campaign and shared the victory with their family members.
Minister for Youth and Sports, Laisenia Tuitubou welcomed the team at the airport.
The Fiji 7s team will fly from Nadi to Nausori this hour.
Thousands of people are also expected to gather at Ratu Sukuna Park this afternoon for the major celebration.
The official celebration program at Ratu Sukuna Park is expected to start at around 5pm where there will be an address by the Acting Prime Minister, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and also the CEO of Vodafone Fiji.
The public will have the opportunity to get autographs and photos taken with the team at Ratu Sukuna Park.
Vodafone Fiji has also revealed that more prizes would be available for the players apart from the total bonus payment of $75,000 which they are set to receive.
The Vodafone Fiji 7s team is expected to receive $50,000 for winning the HSBC World 7s series.
$15,000 will be paid out to the team for being runners up in the Paris 7s and they will receive $10,000 for reaching the Cup semifinal in London.
Fiji retained the 2015/2016 World Sevens Series title with 181 points.
