England Roses Head Coach, Tracey Neville admits there is "always expectation for the Roses to win" as her side prepares for their second match against the Australia Diamonds.
England's victory over the Diamonds on the Gold Coast during the Commonwealth Games in April was their first triumph over their rivals in six years.
Meanwhile, the Roses had earlier defeated the Silver Ferns 51-39 in the first round of the Quad Series over the weekend while Australia had defeated South Africa 61-44.
In the first round 2 match played last night, a much‑improved New Zealand side defeated South Africa 61‑37 in Tauranga.
Attention now switches to Newcastle where the Roses and Diamonds face off in a repeat of their Commonwealth Games final that saw England win their first‑ever gold medal.
England will play Australia at 9.30 tonight in round 2 of the Quad Series.
The Netball Quad Series is an annual international netball series contested by Australia, England, New Zealand and South Africa.
