The Fiji Rugby Union confirms that there are no budget issues for the Fiji Airways Flying Fijians ahead of this year’s Rugby World Cup.
Fiji Rugby Union CEO, John O’Connor made the clarification following a claim made by former Defence Coach, Peter Ryan who says that he is no longer part of the coaching team as FRU have overspent their Rugby World Cup budget.
Ryan took to social media that he was informed by Coach, John McKee that his role with the team has ended.
O’Connor says that at the end of the day, McKee is the one selecting his coaching panel before the FRU management is informed.
McKee is expected to issue a release in the coming days as to what his plans are regarding his coaching panel to the World Cup.
The Flying Fijians will play two international tests against the Maori All Blacks before the Rugby World Cup.
Fiji is pooled with Wales, Australia, Georgia and Uruguay at the Rugby World Cup which will kick off on September 21st in Japan.
