Minister for Youth and Sports Laisenia Tuitubou says the Vodafone Fiji 7s team will not become a franchise.
Leader of Opposition Ro Teimumu Kepa raised the question if there are any plans to franchise the national sevens team and make it the most marketable to the world.
Tuitubou says the Fiji Rugby Union has it’s own plans.
Opposition MP Viliame Gavoka also sought clarification on why the Telecom Fijiana coach Iliesa Tanivula is not having a fixed pay.
Tuitubou clarified that this is not true.
Meanwhile the Fiji 7s team is currently preparing for the Hong Kong and Singapore 7s which will be held from the 7th to the 9th of next month.
The Vodafone Fiji 7s team will play their first game against Japan at 11.54pm on the 7th of next month.
The team will play their second game against Wales at 5.12pm on the 8th of next month and we play our final pool game against New Zealand at 9.12pm.
The medal quarter finals will begin at 2.58pm on the 9th of next month, the medal semi-finals will begin at 7.31pm while the medal final will be played at 11pm.
