Crusaders wing Setareki Tamanivalu and former Fijiana 7s player Brittany Coates welcomed their baby boy earlier this morning.
In a post on his official Facebook page, Tamanivalu said “Welcome baby Roderick Ben Naketeni Tamanivalu, arrived earlier than expected at 36 weeks”.
French rugby club Bordeaux has confirmed the signing Tamanivalu on a three-year deal and he will leave New Zealand to join the French club later this season.
Tamanivalu is on a break this week with the Crusaders on a bye week.
The Hurricanes will meet the Chiefs at 7.35pm Friday.
In other matches, on Saturday, the Sunwolves meet the Blues at 3.05pm, the Rebels face the Jaguares at 5.15pm, the Highlanders take on the Brumbies at 7.35pm and the Waratahs meet the Reds at 9.45pm.
On Sunday, the Sharks take on the Bulls at 3.15am.
