Vodafone Fiji 7s playmaker Kitione Taliga believes he has more to offer as he looks forward to making his family and country proud at this weekend’s Hong Kong 7s.
The former Ratu Navula Collage student stamped his mark in the World Sevens Series after his heroic performance in the Las Vegas 7s final and an outstanding show of pace and skills in Vancouver.
Taliga joins former World Sevens Series player of the year Samisoni Viriviri to wear the white jersey from their village in Dratabu, Nadi.
He said that Hong Kong is where he grew this love for sevens rugby after watching Waisale Serevi and other Fiji teams that won in So Kon Po.
Taliga was running as a rover with Jerry Tuwai, Vatemo Ravouvou and Savenaca Rawaca during their training session at Uprising Beach Resort last week.
Taliga has also given other playmakers around the country a hard time as coach Ben Ryan still opens the selection door for local based players.
Fiji will take on Canada at 12.06am this Saturday in their first pool match.
They will play their second pool game against Korea at 4.24pm Saturday before they face Wales at 8.24pm Saturday in their last pool match.
The Cup quarterfinals start at 2.58pm Sunday, the Cup semifinals start at 7.44pm Sunday while the Cup final kicks off at 11pm Sunday.
