Pacific's fastest man, Banuve Tabakaucoro

Pacific's fastest man, Banuve Tabakaucoro says his aim for this year’s Pacific Games is to go out there and do his best and to still remain the fastest man in the Pacific.

Tabakaucoro is the record holder of the Pacific Games 100 metres event after his record run of 10.55 seconds in the 2015 games.

His fastest time is 10.22 seconds which was recorded in the Oceania Games in 2015.

Tabakaucoro also got a great boost today after Digicel Fiji gave him $1,000 as pocket money for the Pacific Games.

He says athletes do not really get enough to cater for food and travelling costs and when companies step in to provide for the athletes, it is a big help for them.

CEO of Digicel Fiji, Mike Greig says they are sending him off the Digicel way by stepping up to provide his pocket money for his needs.
